The advantage in using a pattern for a second time, the fitting is already done and the whole process moves much faster.
Moving from thread tracing the quilting lines, quilting the 13 pieces, then basting the bodice together seemed to take forever.
I bought the Dritz Ham Holder, something only another sewer would understand. It made it easier to steam and shape the sleeve caps. It’s not pretty, but it works to hold the ham in place. Somewhere I read a suggestion of using a football tee (for American football, that is) which is likely cheaper. I think if I had my ham resting in a football tee, someone around here would likely try to give it a good kick.
And finally… sleeves. Yeah! Now for some time doing some hand work and exploration of possible trims. This may take a while.
Looking gorgeous already and can’t wait to see what trim you decide on.
Thank you, I really need to get on that trim, I haven’t even started looking. Hope your jacket is coming along well.
Your jacket is really coming together well! It’s looking beautiful.
Thanks, I haven’t been able to work on it for a week due to an unexpected out of town trip, but I may have found some trim. Heading home today and hope it’s a match.
